Terms & Conditions

Wholly meant as a recognition for wedding video professionals and allied professionals, the Panasonic LUMIX Better Photography Wedding Video Awards 2019 seeks to recognise talent across six separate categories of video.

  • 1. Best Short Wedding Highlights Video (1-3 min)
  • 2. Best Storytelling in a Wedding Video (3-12 min)
  • 3. Best Long Form Wedding Video (12-20 min)
  • 4. Best Ambient / Recorded Audio in a Wedding Video (1-3 min)
  • 5. Best Cinematography in a Wedding Video (3-12 min)
  • 6. Best Edited Wedding Video (3-12 min)

The short descriptions for each category is provided. It is mandatory to fill in all the required information fields adequately before you upload an entry. Please read the terms and conditions carefully before participating. Any irregularities or non-compliance may result in disqualification or a withdrawal of the award.

Legal Restrictions
  • The Panasonic LUMIX Better Photography Wedding Video Awards 2019 is open to citizens and / or residents of India. Employees of Better Photography, Network18, and companies and brands partnering with Better Photography for the Video Awards are not permitted to participate.
  • There is no entry fee.
  • The Entrant must be the sole creator of his / her videos and must also own the copyrights/rights/licenses to reproduction of all videos/imagery/audio/production, and all individual constituent components that make up the videos entered into the contest. It is the legal responsibility of the entrant, and not Better Photography / Network18, to ensure that publication or viewing of the videos by Better Photography raises no legal claims.
  • Better Photography will appoint a judging panel to determine the nominees and winning videos in each category, based on a final shortlist.
  • Entrants may be asked to provide legal documentation, such as identification, age, residency proof documents may be required. Entrants must ensure that they are able to provide relevant documents within three days of asked for by Better Photography, or risk disqualification.
  • Non-compliance with the terms and conditions will result in the immediate elimination of the videos or disqualification from participation.
Rights of Usage
  • Every entrant will retain copyrights/rights to reproduction of his / her video.
  • By entering your video into the competition, entrants agree to allow Better Photography / Network18 to publish their videos / screengrabs / clips or snippets, in print or electronic form, in any issue of Better Photography or online, through www.betterphotography.in, on social media platforms, or on partner websites, newsletters, social media platforms, or in any manner traditional or new, for editorial and promotional purposes related to the awards, without any payment, in perpetuity.
  • The videos and screengrabs will be reproduced with due credit to its creators for all editorial use.
Judging and Results
  • Judging of entries will be anonymous, with no information about participants or videos available to judges.
  • Entries will be judged on the basis of relevance, interpretation, expression, content, creativity, technical merit, and aesthetics.
  • Entrants may be contacted for identification/age/ residence documents, etc., for potential shortlisting purposes during the competition. Failure to produce such details within three days will eliminate an entrant from the shortlisting process.
  • All official communications will be on email, through your official registered ID. You are required to respond to emails within the next working day, with any queries or clarifications, and within three working days with all necessary inputs as requested.
  • Award nominees will be announced and showcased in one of the future issues of Better Photography. Keep following Better Photography’s website, and Facebook pages for updates on the same.
  • The decision of the judges will be final. Better Photography and Network18 will not enter into any correspondence regarding the judging or the organisation of the competition.
  • You will be required to fill the registration page, and the required information fields for individual entries completely.
  • Each entry should be a single file, with a resolution of minimum 720p, with a standard aspect ratio of 16:9.
  • Each entry needs to be first uploaded onto a dedicated video-sharing platform of choice, before the link is made available to Better Photography as an individual entry.
  • The duration cited with each category is the duration of the entire runtime of the entry, including graphical elements, transitions, effects, introductions, or initial / end blank screen or black screen time.
  • There should be no identifying marks of the creators / production house / or of the entrant, including names, copyright marks, logos or titles, or artificially introduced borders to the video, including pillarboxing.
  • Videos in languages other than English and Hindi are accepted. However, for the understanding of the judges, they will be required to have appropriate subtitles. These may either be hardcoded or embedded, or enabled through automatic captioning / subtitling if your video-sharing platform allows it.
  • Failure to follow these rules will result in disqualification.
