
Terms and Conditions
Entering the Competition
1) The competition is open to citizens of India (including Non Resident Indians) only.
2) Employees of Infomedia18 Ltd, all sponsors and partners do not qualify for the competition.
3) There is no entry fee associated with the Wedding Photographer of the Year 2010 Awards.
4) Entrants are allowed to participate in multiple themes with a maximum of four entries per theme. However, for the theme "Photo series of a Single Wedding", you can send minimum 6 and maximum 12 photographs.
Submission Guidelines for Prints
1) Entries in the form of prints should be unmounted and without borders. Prints should not be smaller than 8 X 10 inches or bigger than 9 X 12 inches. For panoramic entries, the shorter side must measure a minimum of 8 inches.
2) Entries must be printed on Kodak paper.
3) The theme name should be clearly mentioned on the envelope.
4) Entries for multiple themes need to be sent in separate envelopes.
5) A photocopy of the participation form with all details filled in must be pasted behind the print.
Submission Guidelines for Digital Image Files
1) Entrants will need to log on to www.betterphotography.in/wpoy and register by filling up details.
2) Entries in the form of digital image files should be JPEG files.
3) The digital files should have a minimum resolution of 1600 X 1200 pixels. The file size should not exceed 2MB.
Closing Date
All entries must be submitted latest by 10 February 2011.
Legal Restrictions
1) The entrant must be the sole creator of his/her photographs and must also own the copyrights and rights to reproduction of all pictures entered into the contest. It is the legal responsibility of the entrant, and not Infomedia18 Ltd, to ensure that publication of the photographs by Better Photography raises no legal claims.
2) Better Photography will appoint a judging panel to determine the winning images and honourable mentions in each category, based on a final shortlist.
3) The decision of the judges will be final. Better Photography and Infomedia18 Ltd will not enter into any correspondence regarding the judging or organisation of the competition.
Rights of Usage
1) Every entrant will retain copyrights of his/her image.
2) By entering your images into the competition, entrants agree to allow Better Photography to publish their photographs in print or electronic form, in a future issue or issues of Better Photography, for editorial and promotional purposes, without payment, for a period of three years from the date of declaration of results.
3) The images will be reproduced with due credit to the photographers.
Judging and Results
1) Entries will be judged on the basis of interpreting and expressing the theme, along with the technical and aesthetic quality of the photograph.
2) Award nominees will be announced in the March 2011 issue of Better Photography. Final winners will be showcased in the April 2011 issue.
3) Entrants may be contacted for a high-resolution JPEG or RAW file of their image and other details such as proof of age, for potential shortlisting purposes during the competition. Failure to produce such details or a high-resolution file within five days will eliminate an entrant from the shortlisting process.
4) The 6 first-prize winners of each theme will compete for the title of Wedding Photographer of the Year 2010 through a face-off contest.
