The cellphone is like the modern day Polaroid camera, just without an instant print. So many moments that could fade away in our memories can be captured with ease. Borders too, have come a long way from the iconic white border of a Polaroid print and cellphone apps today provide a multitude of options that can adorn your special moments. Here’s a roundup of five of the most fun border apps to use!
What I like most about this app is the fact that it is extremely simple to navigate. The interface is intuitive and the app gives you many collage options in the free version. It has colours and patterns and is a pure border and collage app and lets you choose the aspect ratio. It is the go-to app if all you’re looking for is a simple border to go with your image.
Available for both iOS and Android, this app is free but with a banner of ads, and has no locked frames or options, but with a banner of ads. Going pro, just removes the banner.
This app takes the collage and border option to the next level by including ready templates and text. The app gives you a lot of control by letting you choose exactly what size you want the canvas to be and even the number of blocks that go in a collage. You can select borders from about 6-7 colour palettes or even patterned borders.
An iOS app, the free version is not bad but some of the better patterns are locked. The pro version is available for Rs. 120.
An extremely fun app, some of the borders here unabashedly come on to the picture. There are a ton of effects, shapes and border, overlays to choose from and you can create fun looking combinations with them. The resultant image is usually quite fun!
This iOS app is available for Rs. 60 and is well worth the fun.
Apart from using a border for a single image, the app gives you the option of making collages as well. The app lets you customize the colour of the patterned border and the background too. Additionally, it has stickers!
This iOS app’s pro version is available for Rs. 60, which unlocks a more variety of frames.
PicsLab essentially fits your picture in a square, making it share-ready for Instagram. What I like about the app is the kind of options available even for the free version. The app lets you choose colours or patterns from a selection and you can even select various overlay effects and patterns. Adding text to the image is an option with a number of fonts and colours available. The selection of filters is pretty decent too. The only drawback of the free version is the little watermark on the bottom right of the final image.
This is a free app for both Android and iOS. It has in-app purchases for more borders and colours. The ones available free are not bad, however.Tags: borders, collage, Reviews, natasha desai, PicsGrid, PicsLab, Frame Artist, Camera Fx8, Instacollage, Border, Fun Apps, Cellphone Apps
