Sigma Adds Three New Lenses to its Global Vision Line
Sigma has announced three new full-frame lenses for its Global Vision Line. The much awaited 85mm f/1.4 Art, the 12-24mm f/4 Art, and the 500 f/4 DG OS HSM Sport.
Designed for portraiture, the Sigma 85mm f/1.4 Art has a high-performance optical system is purpose-built by Sigma R&D, which produces attractive bokeh and claims to give an exceptional degree of sharpness. A stronger AF system has 1.3x the power than the previous setup. The lens also includes other features like a full-time manual focus override that can be controlled when the focus ring is rotated, even during continuous AF.
This lens will be available from mid-October for Canon, Nikon and Sigma mounts with a brand new electromagnetic diaphragm for Nikon. The Sigma 85mm f/1.4 Art will retail for USD 1200 (approx. Rs. 80,000).
The Sigma 12-24mm f/4 DG HSM Art is an Ultra-Wide Angle Zoom features the largest aspherical glass mold in the industry, offering photographers an ultra-wide angle zoom with virtually no distortion, flare or ghosting. The lens includes constant f/4 brightness and the brand new Sigma AF system with 1.3X force boost. The optimised power distribution results in higher image quality from centre to the edges. The minimum focus distance of 9.4 inches at 24mm allows photographers to compose close up shots with an expansive background.
The lens can support Canon, Sigma and Nikon mounts, with a new electromagnetic diaphragm for Nikon. Available from end-October, the expected price of the lens is USD 1600 (approx. Rs. 1.1 lakhs).
Lastly, the Sigma 500mm f/4 DG OS HSM Sport Lens is a pro fast aperture prime super telephoto. Designed especially for sports and wildlife photographers, this lens is ultra-durable and features magnesium alloy components, a carbon fiber hood, a water and oil resistant front element, and is dust and splash proof. It also has a drop-in rear filter slot for polarizers, UV and other critical filters.
The lens includes a two-mode Optical Stabilizer for enhanced performance during handheld or panning shots. There is also a customizable AF return function for setting the focus position. It will be available for Canon, Sigma and Nikon mounts end October onwards with a new diaphragm for Nikon. The Sigma 500mm f/4 DG OS HSM Sport Lens will retail for USD 6000 (approx.
