SanDisk Announces 4k Capable MicroSD Card for Phones
In addition to breaking the capacity barrier with the 512GB SD card, SanDisk has expanded its 4k portfololio with the newly launched 64GB microSD card. The SanDisk Extreme Pro 64GB microSDXC, has the same read and write speeds seen in the 512GB card.
The card manages a transfer speed of 95Mbps and a writing speed of 90Mbps which will be fantastic for uncompressed Full HD video and good for compressed 4k Ultra HD video as well. For uncompressed 4k, you would still need to use an external recorder, as it requires much higher speeds. According to the company, the card can record almost 2 hours of 4k video (3840 x 2160) and upto 6 hours of Full HD video.
“Features like 4K Ultra HD video recording, which were once only available on high-end devices, have quickly gained popularity and adoption,” Rajesh Gupta, Country Manager India, SanDisk Corporation. “There is no doubt 4K Ultra HD is a game-changer and we are committed to enabling the next generation of video capture and sharing.”
The 64GB has the dust, water, temperature, shock and x-ray proof build of SanDisk’s Extreme Pro range. The 64GB card will be available for Rs. 9700, while a 32GB card will also be available for Rx. 4900.
