As a direct competitor to the Sony RX100, the PowerShot G7 X features a 20.2MP 1-inch High-Sensitivity CMOS sensor with a DIGIC 6 Image Processor. It is low-light capable with a maximum ISO is 12800, and a f/1.8-2.8 lens and the lens also features in-built image stabilisation.

On paper, this seems to be the company’s response to the RX100 series of cameras, with the finesse and expertise of Canon’s S series of cameras. That said, one wonders if it comes a little late in the day. The camera has a 4.2x Optical Zoom and has an autofocus with 31 focus points. It has a built-in ND filter but lacks a built-in viewfinder. The camera has no buffer time and will shoot full resolution images at 6.5fps. It records full HD 1080p video at 60 fps. Joining the selfie-enabling brigade, the G7 X has a flip up 3-inch capacity LCD screen. It will be priced at USD 700 (approx. Rs. 42,000).

The SX60 has the most amount of zoom seen in a compact camera, with a massive zoom range of 65x. It comes with a 16.1MP 1/2.3″ High-Sensitivity Sensor and a DIGIC 6 Image Processor, an upgrade from the SX50’s 12.1MP and DIGIC 5. The focal range is equivalent to 21-1365mm. In a first for the PoweShot line up, the SX60 features a microphone input, as well, which makes this a potentially good camera for video blogging and travellers.

On the other hand, the N2 comes as an upgrade to the N (read our review here). It has a 16.1MP 1/2.3-inch sensor with a DIGIC 6 Image Processor. It uses the same zoom as the N and shoots 1080p video. Like the N, it is WiFi and NFC enabled. It will be available in white and black.
