Winners of Food for the Family | Pink Lady Food Photographer of the Year 2021

Here are the alluring photographs submitted in the Food for the Family category of the Pink Lady Food Photographer of the Year 2021:

Founded in 2011 by Caroline Kenyon and her team at The Food Awards Company, the contest celebrates the best in food photography and film today. There are 30 unique categories that cover a range of depictions of food in society. The entries are then judged by experts—photographers, magazine editors, creative directors, film directors, food retailers, and chefs. This year, the esteemed panel of jurors included David Loftus, the Chair of Judges, Nicola Galloway, Jussi Brofeldt, and Francis Hodgson, among others. The title winner receives a cash prize of 5000 GBP.

Second Winner: Yiping Wan, China

The Story of the Old Stove: It is a photograph of an old stove. I liked the way the couple was surrounded by this warm, soft glow of the light. The man helped to fan the fire, which helped to light up the stove. Even their hands form a curved line that enables a viewer’s gaze to move from the left to the right.

Third Winner: Li Huaifeng, China

Mutual Help: This couple resides in the Longwangmiao Village, Licheng County, Shanxi, China. They have been together for more than fifty years. You can still see how happy they are together in their lives. I photographed them when they were sharing a meal. I like the way the sun had lit them from behind, and the golden light danced around their faces and meal.
