My Best Shot: Sherwin Crasto
This story was originally published in May 2014.
Why It Is My Best Shot
Frankly, it isn’t, but it is an image that makes me feel good. While I have pushed myself a little extra to get most of my best shots, this one was equally difficult.
Where and When I Shot This Image
I shot this image on 6 November 2008, at the NCPA, Mumbai during a two-day cultural festival of Russia. The ballerina is from Russia’s famous Marinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg.
How I Achieved It
Thanks to the NCPA’s PR team who let me have a sneak peak during a rehearsal. This helped plan the composition, though I wish I had shot the image a split second earlier when she achieved a complete 10-10- 10 jump.
The Gear I Used To Get The Shot
I used a Canon EOS-1Ds Mark II with a Canon 16–35mm f/2.8 lens which was at 24mm.
