Xiaomi Launches Redmi Note 2 and Note 2 Prime
Xiaomi has introduced the Redmi Note 2 and Redmi Note 2 Prime, which feature a 13MP and a 5MP front-facing camera.
The rear camera in Redmi Note 2 is equipped with phase detection autofocus, LED flash, a shutterspeed of 0.1 second, f/2.2 aperture and a 5-element lens. It also features geo-tagging, touch focus, face/smile detection, panorama and HDR. The camera can shoot 1080p video at 30fps. In addition, the 5MP front-facing camera comes with OmniVision and is capable of shooting 720p video.
The Redmi Note 2 runs on the new MIUI 7 custom ROM based on Android 5.0 Lollipop and is powered by 2GHz octacore MediaTek Helio X10 processor. Other key features include a 5.5-inch (1080 x 1920p) resolution IPS LCD display, 2GB of RAM, 16/32GB built-in storage, and a 3060mAh battery. Measuring 154 x 78.7 x 9.5mm, the smartphone weighs 160 grams.
On the camera front, the Redmi Note 2 Prime features identical specification to Redmi Note 2. The smartphone runs on the new MIUI 7 custom ROM based on Android 5.0 Lollipop and is powered by 2.2GHz octacore MediaTek Helio X10 SoC. 152 x 76 x 8.25mm, the smartphone weighs 160 grams.
The company has initially launched the smartphones in China only at 899 yuan (approx. Rs. 9000) and 999 yuan (approx. Rs. 10,000) respectively.
