Tokina Has a New Stabilised 70–200mm f/4 Lens (Video)

Tokina has officially announced its new 70–200mm f/4 lens, which significantly, will be the company’s first lens to feature image stabilisation. It may be remembered that the company had first announced this lens during CP+ in February.

As a prominent third-party manufacturer, this was a technology that has been incorporated rather late by the Japanese manufacturer. A full frame lens, the Tokina AT-X 70-200mm F4 PRO FX VCM-S will initially be available only for the Nikon mount, and will be sold in Japan at a tag of¥150,000. While this roughly translates to USD 1500 or Rs. 90,000, it must be remembered that Japanese prices are never accurately indicative of the American and Indian price points.

The lens offers three stops of image stabilisation and the tripod collar is optional, and sold separately.
