Sony to foray into camera drone business

Sony Mobile Communications has announced its plans to enter the camera drone business. The company has recently tied-up with ZMP and is planning to form a new company, Aerosense, in August 2015.

Under the joint venture, Sony will provide camera, image sensing, telecommunications network and robotics technologies, while ZMP will incorporate its automated driving and robotics technologies. The new company is expected to roll out measuring, surveying, observing and inspecting services through camera drones from early 2016.
