Sony Releases two new Cyber-Shot RX Series Cameras

 

Sony has launched two new cameras, the compact RX100 IV and the RX10 II.

According to the company, both the models are equipped with world’s first stacked 1.0 type Exmor RS CMOS sensor with a DRAM memory chip that enables the users to improve the readout speed by five times. The RX11 IV and RX10 II come with 20MP sensors and are capable of shooting 4K videos of up to 29 minutes.

In addition, the RX11 IV and RX10 II offer continuous shooting speeds of 16fps (frames per second) and 14fps. Also, both these cameras feature a 40x super slow motion video capture at up to 960fps and an ultra-fast anti-distortion shutter with a maximum speed of 1/32000sec.

Both the cameras allow the capture of 16.8MP still images during 4K video recording. Other key features of these two cameras include a new 2.35 million dot XGA OLED viewfinder, built-in WiFi and NFC.

However, there are some specifications in both the cameras that are different from each other: the RX 100 IV has focal length of 24-70mm while the RX 10 II has 24-200mm; the RX 100 IV comes with a 2.9x optical zoom and the RX 10 II is equipped with a 8.3x optical zoom; the RX 100 IV is not compatible to an external flash, but in RX 10 II multi-interface shoe can be used. Measuring 102 x 58 x 41mm, the RX 100 IV weighs 298 grams and the 813 grams RX 10 II has dimensions measuring 129 x 88 x 102mm.

The RX100 IV and RX10 II are priced at USD 1000 (approx. Rs. 63,867) and USD 1300 (approx. Rs. 83,027) respectively and will be available for sale in July. However, price and availability in India are yet to be announced by the company.
