Samsung’s Smartphone Camera Woes

Samsung has confirmed reports of users facing issues with the camera of the flagship Galaxy S5.

The company released a statement saying, “We have learned that a limited number of Galaxy S5 devices may have an issue that causes ‘Camera Failure’ pop-up error message.” Owners of the defective handsets can exchange them for new pieces at their respective stores.

According to Samsung, “the problem is a result of complications in the ROM  (Read Only Memory) component of the phone that stores the information necessary to operate the camera.”

The irony of the entire affair is that the problem came to light less than 24 hours after a new ad by Samsung. This ad highlights the S5’s camera as being far superior to the iPhone 5s. And while we love a good smartphone showdown, talk about getting screwed by karma.
