Pricing and Availability of Tokina’s 24–70mm f/2.8 FX Lens Announced
Kenko Tokina USA has announced the pricing and availability of the new AT-X 24–70mm f/2.8 Pro FX lens. Officially launched in February 2015, the new lens is compatible with Canon and Nikon full-frame sensor DSLR cameras.
The 24mm wide-angle to 70mm lens enables full-frame photographers to capture wide-angle shots as well as portraits. Inside the barrel of Tokina’s new lens are three all-glass aspherical lens. One of these three elements, G09, is made from super-low dispersion glass.
According to the company, the f/2.8 aperture enables viewing and auto focusing possible in very low-light conditions, and at the same time allows photographers flexibility to set the shutterspeed.
Other key features of the lens include an optical construction of 15 elements in 11 groups, 84.20°–34.49° angle of view, minimum focus distance of 0.38cm, rotary zoom, a 9-blade aperture and an 82mm filter. Weighing 1010 grams, the lens measures 107.5 x 89.6mm.
The lens will be available in the USA from August 2015, at USD 999 (approx. Rs.63,584).
