Exclusive: Tetsuro Goto, Creator of the Nikon Df, Talks About The Camera

 


Mr. Tetsuro Goto is a Fellow of Nikon, General Manager, of Imaging Product R & D Laboratory Nikon Corporation, also called Goto’s Lab within Nikon. He is also responsible for heading the team that created the famed Nikon F3, F4, F5 and the D3, D3s and the D700. In this very unique video, he shares his insights, concepts and the development path that eventually lead to the creation of the Df, from the very first 3D printed concept version to the final production version.

What does the ‘f” in the Df mean? It stands for ‘fusion’. And here’s why its a fusion of the original Nikon F and the Nikon D4.
