Pentax Launches Cameras to Appease Sweet Toothed Photogs
Following the release of the K-S1 camera, Pentax has announced new versions of the 20.12MP camera, aimed at photographers who love the sweeter things in life.
Under the Sweets Collection, three new bodies of the K-S1 were announced by the company. The cameras are called Strawberry Cake, Blue Cream Soda and Lime Pie, all of which have white coloured bodies with colour accents corresponding to their names. The cameras under the Sweets Collection come with a standard SMC DA L 18–55mm f/3.5-5.6 lens.
The Android OS system has been using dessert names for each system update since the beginning, and perhaps Pentax has taken inspiration from them. It is obvious that this version is not aimed at a serious professional, though we do wonder what a legendary photographer would look like, with a Blue Cream Soda around his neck.
This collection will be available mid-November onward, and is priced at USD 699 (approx. Rs. 42,900).
Bonus: We spoke to Shinobu Takahashi, Senior General Manager, Ricoh Imaging during photokina this year, and he took us through the features of the K-S1 camera. You can view the video by clicking here.Tags: Pentax, Pentax K-S1, Sweet Collection Pentax
