Panasonic Launches the New Lumix DMC-GX8 with 20.3MP Sensor

 

Panasonic has unveiled the new Lumix DMC-GX8 featuring a 20.3MP sensor along with other advanced features. According to the company, this is for the first time 20MP sensor is used in Micro Four Thirds format.

The dust and splash-proof DSLR features a dual image stabiliser (IS) that uses both sensor-shift and lens-shift at the same time and offers vibration correction not only in wide angle but also with telephoto.

In addition to a 20.3-megapixel Digital Live MOS Sensor, the DMC-GX8 allows users to capture images at ISO setting of up to 25,600and  is capable of shooting at 8fps. On video front, the DMC-GX8 enables users to record QFHD 4K video in 3840 x 2160 at 30p or 24p in MP4. Also, users can capture 8MP photographs at 30fps while shooting videos. Users can extract 4K images in 4K Burst Shooting, 4K Burst S/S and 4K Pre-burst modes.

Other key features include maximum shutterspeed of 1/16,000 second, a tilt-able electronic live viewfinder with magnification ratio of approximately 1.54x / 0.77x (35mm camera equivalent), a 2360K dot high resolution and 100% field of view, OLED display, a 3-inch 1040K dot rear monitor, a Contrast AF System with Depth From Defocus technology, an autofocus speed of approximately 0.07 second, a hot-shoe for external flash, WiFi and NFC connectivity.

Measuring 133 x 78 x 63mm, the camera weighs 487 grams.

The Lumix DMC-GX8 is priced at USD 1199.99 (approx. Rs. 76,172) and will be available in August via company’s website and photo retailers.
