OmniVision Launches New Compact Digital Imaging Solution
OmniVision has launched OVM7699 CameraCubeChip and OV7699 CameraChip, utilising the company’s OmniBSI+ pixel architecture, which enhances VGA performance and offers camera solution to smartphones, notebooks, wearables and IoT devices, among others.
The 1.75-micron OmniBSI+ pixel architecture enables the 1/13-inch OVM7699 CameraCubeChip and OV7699 CameraChip to capture VGA (640 x 480p) resolution images and video at 30fps.
“These camera solutions are designed to be extremely versatile, bringing high quality images and video in compact and affordable packages. These two solutions are well suited to a wide range of applications in which cost, size or power consumption constraints can be key,” said Aaron Chiang, director of CameraCubeChip marketing at OmniVision.
The OVM7699 comes in a 2.1 x 2.1mm CameraCubeChip module with a z-height of approximately 2.3mm, while the OV7699 comes in a 2.03 x 2.08mm CSP. Both modules are currently available for sampling and are expected to enter volume production in the first quarter of 2016.
