Olympus Release New Firmware Updates for OM-D E-M1 and E-M5 Mark II

Olympus has released the new firmware updates, version 3.1 for OM-D E-M1 and version 1.2 for OM-D E-M5 Mark II.

The new releases feature the Live View Boost II, which enhances the camera’s night vision capabilities when shooting underwater. Also, a decreased display frame rate enables better control of exposure of even poorly lit subjects on the camera screen and allows the users to capture the tiny bright points of light against dark backgrounds.

The new Live View Booster can be assigned to all PASM shooting modes selectively when working with a flash in M mode. The updates enable users to apply Live Boost modes individually to Live Composite and Bulb/Time modes. Also, the new Underwater Picture Mode combines the wide and macro underwater modes in one single function and makes them available in all PASM modes.

The firmware releases allow users to adjust the aperture and shutterspeed to capture still images with the perfect balance of vivid colours and natural underwater blue tones, thus eliminating the need of further image editing.

The two firmware updates are available as a free download via the Olympus Digital Camera Updater.
