Nikon Announces Three New Nikkor Lenses
Nikon has announced three new full-frame lenses, the AF-S Nikkor 24–70mm f/2.8E ED VR, the AF-S Nikkor 200–500mm f/5.6E ED VR super-telephoto zoom lens and the AF-S Nikkor 24mm f/1.8G ED.
The new AF-S Nikkor 24–70mm f/2.8E ED VR lens features Vibration Reduction (VR) image stabilisation up to 4 stops, an Electromagnetic Aperture control, an Aspherical Extra-Low Dispersion (ASP/ED), High-Refractive Index elements and Nano Crystal Coating. The lens construction consists of 20 elements in 16 groups with a 9-blade diaphragm, a new filter diameter of 82mm. The lens supports the new Nikon CPL2 Circular Polarizer and 82mm neutral colour filters. The lens weighs 1.07kg.
The AF-S Nikkor 200–500mm f/5.6E ED VR is equipped with a Vibration Reduction up to 4.5 stops, VR featuring Sport Mode, an Electromagnetic Aperture control and minimum focus distance of 7.2ft throughout the entire focal range. The lens is also compatible with the Nikon 1.4x, 1.7x or 2x E teleconverters. The lens construction consists of 19 elements in 12 groups with a 9-blade diaphragm, a filter diameter of 95mm. The lens supports the new Nikon CPL2 Circular Polarizer and 95mm neutral colour filters. Weighing 2.3kg, the lens includes a tripod collar.
The AF-S Nikkor 24mm f/1.8G ED features Extra-Low Dispersion, Aspherical lens elements and minimum focus of 0.23m. The optical construction includes 12 elements in 9 groups with a 7-blade diaphragm. The lens weighs 355 grams.
The 24–70mm, 200–500mm and 24MM lenses are priced at USD 2399 (approx. Rs. 1,53,400), USD 1399.95 (approx. Rs. 85,520) and USD 749.95 (approx. Rs. 47,955) respectively. The 24–70mm will be available in late August, while the other two lenses will be available in mid-September.
