Motorola Launches Moto X Style and Moto X Play, Featuring a 21MP Camera

 

Motorola has added two new smartphones to its Moto X series with the launch of Moto X Style and the Moto X Play. Both smartphones features a 21MP rear camera.

The Moto X Style features a f/2 aperture, phase detection autofocus and a dual-LED flash. Other key features include Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama and auto-HDR. The smartphone houses a 5MP front-facing camera, which is equipped with an LED flash and is capable of shooting 4K videos.

The Moto X Style runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 SoC with a 1.8GHz hexacore processor. The smartphone features a 5.7-inch QuadHD (515ppi pixel density) display, 3GB of RAM, 16/32/64GB in-built storage (expandable up to 128GB via microSD card) and a 3000mAh battery. Measuring 153.9 x 76.2 x 11.1mm, the smartphone weighs 179 grams.

The Moto X Style, on the rear camera front, offers similar features to the Moto X Style. However, the 5MP front-facing camera in the smartphone is not equipped with flash.

The Moto X Play runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC featuring a 1.7GHz octacore processor. The smartphone features a 5.5-inch QuadHD (400ppi pixel density) display, 2GB of RAM, 16GB and 32GB in-built storage (expandable up to 128GB via microSD card) and a 3630mAh battery. Measuring 148 x 75 x 10.9mm, the smartphone weighs 169 grams.

The company has simultaneously launched these smartphones in New York City, Sao Paolo and London. However, the company has not announced the pricing details. According to The Guardian, Moto X Style is expected to be priced at 359 pounds (approx. Rs. 36,000) and Moto X Play is expected to be priced at 299 pounds (approx. Rs. 30,000).
