Leica’s T-System for Mirrorless Camera Users
Leica has announced Leica T, the first mirrorless interchangeable lens camera of the new Leica T-System.
Made from a single block of aluminium, the Leica T upholds the company’s tradition of innovative precision and quality. The camera sports a large 16.5 MP APS-C sensor and a 3.7 inch touchscreen. However, the electronic viewfinder has to be bought separately. Apart from the usual slot for SD, SDHC and SDXC cards, the camera also has its own built-in 16 GB memory.
The Leica T features an integrated Wi-Fi module that allows wireless transfer of pictures and videos from the camera to a smartphone, tablet or a computer. Leica has also announced a free Leica T app with remote control function for iOS devices.
Leica is known for its high price tags and the Leica T is no different. It will be available (in black or silver) from May 26th onwards at a steep price of $1850 (approximately Rs.1,12,200). As of now, two lenses are available for the Leica T – the Vario-Elmar-T 18–56 mm f/3.5–5.6 ASPH and the Summicron-T 23mm f/2 ASPH priced at $1750 and $1950 respectively (approximately Rs. 1,06,000 and Rs.1,18,200 respectively). Several accessories have also been announced such as the tilt and swivel, electronic viewfinder with integrated GPS and the new Leica SF 26 flash unit.Tags: Leica, Leica T, Mirrorless cameras, News
