Instagram Update: Three New Filters
Last December, Instagram anounced five new filters that were added to their collection. Now, the popular photo editing app has introduced three more filters which they describe as modern and subtle. Juno, Lark, and Reyes could be used to enhance and brighten the colours in our images in “refined, beautiful ways.” Instagram’s previous updates were met with great enthusiasm from its users, and they’re expecting a similar response again.
Interestingly, the app which was first released in 2010, has in recent years become more invested in updating their service and adding new effects and tools. We wonder if this could be because they’ve realised that, although they’re one of the best platforms to share photos, they aren’t the ones with the most popular editing options. More and more people have been flocking to editing apps like VSCO Cam, which might not be completely free, but seem to have developed filters that people cellphone photographers are willing to pay for. Could competition like this be the reason why Instagram has been rolling out more interesting updates than before? Well, we don’t mind.
