The Technical Image Press Association (TIPA) has unveiled the winners of the prestigious TIPA World Awards 2021 on 20 May. The eminent panel of jurists voted Hoya as one of the category winners this year. The jury consists of various magazines from across the globe, including Better Photography, the only South Asian member of TIPA. The awards, presented to the finest products in the photo and imaging industry, was established in 1991 to recognise the efforts of manufacturers.

Here is a look at the awards:

Best Photo Accessory: Hoya ProND Grad Circular Graduated ND Filters

Every landscape photographer knows that half the battle is “waiting for the light to be just right”. Hoya’s ProND Grad filters even out the odds by offering a controllable balance between the bright and dark areas (sky and land) of horizontal landscape compositions. Known colloquially as “blenders”, these high-quality filters are made with Hoya’s ACCU-ND deposition technology, which distributes graduation equally throughout the glass surface. A further refinement is the adjustment of the way the specific density starts and fades out inside the image area, making for a smooth and natural fade that enriches the highlights and lets the darker areas breathe. These variable filters are available in 0-4 (ProND Grad 16) and 0-5 stop (ProND Grad 32) strengths.
