Gionee Launches New Elife E8 with 24MP Camera

 

Gionee has further expanded its flagship Elife series of smartphones, with the launch of the new Elife E8 in Beijing, on 10 June 2015. The cameraphone comes with a 24MP main camera and can capture images in 120 megapixels.

The Elife E8, now, has become the second cameraphone in the market that offers such a high resolution. Nokia’s Lumia 1020 comes with a 41MP camera. However, the Nokia Lumia 1020 can capture photographs in 38 megapixels.

Other key features of this cameraphone include an 8MP front-facing camera, a six-element lens with sapphire glass, optical image stabilisation, 4K video recording, a dedicated camera button, dual-tone LED flash, and phase detection autofocus for speeds up to 0.08 seconds.

According to the company, equipped with lossless zoom, the Elife E8 maintains the image quality even if the users shoot images at 3x zoom. Powered by the MediaTek MTK6795 chipset, this cameraphone has a 2Ghz octacore processor and 3GB RAM with Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system.

Priced at 3,999 Yuan (approx. Rs. 41,184), the Gionee Elife E8 will be available from 15 July 2015. However, price and availability in India are yet to be announced by the company.
