Putting the HP Z3200 to the Test
A professional photography and graphic design agency, 720 Grad GmbH, from Switzerland, was invited to try out the HP Designjet Z3200. A similar request was also sent to a photo studio, Studio Lengerer, from Germany.
The Challenge
720 Grad wanted to print a variety of images on different media and examine the results, in order to see how the printer would perform in its design agency environment.
On other hand, Studio Lengerer wanted to produce high quality photos on a tight schedule, while completing all production steps in-house. They also wanted to offer innovative products and services that would set their business apart from other studios and discount stores.
The Results
Based on a series of tests, 720 Grad found that the Z3200 is capable of great quality, regardless of the media used, helping the company maintain its flexibility. They also found the embedded spectrophotometer, 12-ink system and TIFF and JPEG support enable accurate colour profiling and direct job submission.
Studio Langerer found the Z3200 quite helpful while producing high-quality portrait and commercial prints. They also found that they had total control over the entire value chain–and therefore also quality assurance–from taking photographs to delivering the final framed or canvas print.
