Crossing the Finish Line

 

The journey leading up to the Panasonic Better Photography Wedding Video Awards 2019, finally culminated in a grand ceremony held in Mumbai.

The Panasonic Better Photography Wedding Video Awards 2019 finally concluded on the 7 November, in a splendid ceremony at the Hotel Courtyard by Marriott, in Mumbai. The event was organised by Network18 and presented by Better Photography in association with Panasonic. The Associate partners were Sigma, Digitek, and Lacie, Prize partner—Sennheiser, Supporting partner—India Film Project, Style partner—Libas and Gangji Jewels, and Live Streaming partner—Live U.

Emcee, Pooja Ruparel, who is also known for her role as Chutki in the iconic wedding film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, welcomes the audience to the Panasonic Better Photography Wedding Video Awards 2019 felicitation ceremony.

A glimpse of the guests who attended the awards night on 7 November, at the Hotel Courtyard by Marriott, in Mumbai.

The event was hosted by a very special emcee—an actress, stand-up comedian and singer, Ms. Pooja Ruparel, who is also known for her role as Chutki in the iconic wedding film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. The initial address was by Mr. K Madhavan Pillai, Chief Editor, Better Photography magazine, who spoke about the conception of the Wedding Video Awards, the intent of the platform, and explained the idea behind each of the six categories.

Sandeep Sehgal, Business Chief, India and SAARC, Imaging Business Group, Panasonic India spoke about the Panasonic Lumix S1, S1R, and the S1H. He also mentioned that by the end of 2020, there will be 46 lenses available for the L-mount cameras.

Following this, Mr. Sandeep Sehgal, Business Chief, India and SAARC, Imaging Business Group, Panasonic India, gave his keynote address. “This stage is an important initiative to celebrate the good work happening in the industry,” he said. His note ended with the mention of the Panasonic Lumic S1 and S1R, and its upcoming lenses.

Varun Vijayprasad and Nitesh K, Runner Up, Best Short Wedding Highlights Video category, receive their award from Swapan Mukherjee, photographer and educator; Ajitesh Swarup, Zonal Manager, West Region, Imaging Business Group, Panasonic India; and Wasim Sheikh, National Sales Manager, Consumer Group, Seagate Technology HDD Pvt Ltd.

Alaghammai Arunachalam, Monica Kumar, Khaleelur Rahman, Mohan Muthu, Praveen Padmanaban, and Yogaraj Chandrasekar, Winners, Best Short Wedding Highlights Video category, receive their award from Swapan Mukherjee, photographer and educator; Ajitesh Swarup, Zonal Manager, West Region, Imaging Business Group, Panasonic India; and Wasim Sheikh, National Sales Manager, Consumer Group, Seagate Technology HDD Pvt Ltd.

The address was succeeded by the prize distribution ceremony, where our category winners were invited on stage to receive their certificate and trophy. The winners of the Best Short Wedding Highlights Video and the Best Storytelling in a Wedding Video categories, Picturemakers and House on the Clouds, received the Panasonic Lumix G85H mirrorless camera with Leica DG Vario-Elmarit 14–140mm f/3.5-5.6 II ASPH lens kit, each. Rock Paper Scissors Films and Mere Shadows, winners of the Best Cinematography in a Wedding Video and the Best Long from Wedding Video categories, were awarded the Panasonic Lumix GH5 4K mirrorless kit that includes Leica DG Vario-Elmarit 12–60mm f/2.8-4 ASPH lens, each. The winner of the Best Ambient/Recorded Audio in a Wedding Video category, Picturemakers, were bestowed with Sennheiser AVX-ME2 set, whereas the Best Edited Wedding Video winner, House on the Clouds, received the Sennheiser XS wireless digital portable lavalier set. Moreover, each winner also received the Digitek LED Video Light LED-D520 B, each.

Sameer Malhotra, who represented Memory Sauce (not present at the event), Runner Up, Best Long Form Wedding Video category, receives the award from K Madhavan Pillai, Chief Editor, Better Photography magazine; Fawzan Husain, photographer and educator; and Hitesh Vig, National Product Trainer, Imaging Business Group, Panasonic India.

Satish Amrut, Akshay N Rao, Sucheth Ramprasad, Raghavendra KR, Winners, Best Long Form Wedding Video category, receive their award from K Madhavan Pillai, Chief Editor, Better Photography magazine; Fawzan Husain, photographer and educator; and Hitesh Vig, National Product Trainer, Imaging Business Group, Panasonic India.

Balaji Raghunathan, Runner Up, Best Storytelling in a Wedding Video category, receives his award from Meghna Sen, Film Editor; PK Suri, Founder, PK Suri Worldwide Studios; and Siddharth Arora, Product Marketing Manager, Imaging Business Group, Panasonic India.

Charu Sharma, who represented House on the Clouds (not present at the event), Winner, Best Storytelling in a Wedding Video category, receives the award from Meghna Sen, Film Editor; PK Suri, Founder, PK Suri Worldwide Studios; and Siddharth Arora, Product Marketing Manager, Imaging Business Group, Panasonic India.

Ivor Sequeira, who represented Dreamcolor Photography (not present at the event), Runner Up, Best Ambient/Recorded Audio in a Wedding Video category, receives the award from Kiran Sanghvi, Owner, Premier Radio Electronics, Deepak Saraf, Director, IMS Mercantile Pvt. Ltd., and Amit Seth, Business Head, Print and Auto, Network18.

Yogaraj Chandrasekar, Praveen Padmanaban, Khaleelur Rahman, Monica Kumar, Alaghammai Arunachalam, and Mohan Muthu, Winners, Best Best Ambient/Recorded Audio in a Wedding Video category, receive their award from Kiran Sanghvi, Owner, Premier Radio Electronics; Deepak Saraf, Director, IMS Mercantile Pvt. Ltd.; and Amit Seth, Business Head, Print and Auto, Network18.

Anurag Bose and Rajat Mitra, Runner Up, Best Cinematography in a Wedding Video category, receive their award from Sandeep Sehgal, Business Chief, India and SAARC, Imaging Business Group, Panasonic India; Ian Pereira, photographer and educator; and Shashi Kumar, Pre-sales Solution Architect, LiveU.
