Canon Launches PowerShot G3 X

 

Expanding its G-series of compact digital cameras, Canon has introduced the new PowerShot G3 X that comes with a 1-inch 20.2MP CMOS sensor and a 25x optical power zoom lens with f/2.8-5.6 (equivalent to 24-600mm).

Waterproof and dustproof, the camera can capture images at ISO settings up to 12,800. Featuring DIGIC 6 image processor, the point-and-shoot camera comes with intelligent image stabilization system. The G3 X offers useful controls including an auto exposure lock button, autofocus selection button and DRIVE/AF button.

Other key features of the G3 X include a 3.2-inch multi-angle 1620K dot touchscreen LCD that can be tilt up to 1800 for capturing selfies; a 2.36MP electronic viewfinder EVF DC-1; Raw support; and WiFi with NFC.

The camera is capable of recording 1080p full HD videos at 24p, 30p and 60p in MP4 format. It offers a continuous shooting speed at up to 5.9 fps with single autofocus.

To be available in July 2015, the camera is estimated to be priced at USD 999.99 (approx. Rs. 63,860). Pricing and availability in India are yet to be announced by the company.
