Canon BP WPOY 2016 -17: Top 50 in Finer Wedding Details or Still Life Category

With the judging complete of the Canon Better Photography Wedding Photographer of the Year 2016-17 contest, we will be revealing the top 50 photographs that made it to each of the six categories—Bride and Groom Portraiture, Family and Friends, Emotions, Behind the Scenes or Offbeat, Finer Wedding Details or Still Life and Photoseries on a single Wedding. Let’s look first at the Finer Wedding Details or Still Life category.

With the big, epic gestures and raw, beautiful emotions that photographers are privy to during weddings, there are quieter moments that speak volumes too. The wedding thali, trousseau waiting to be worn, a mandap being set up, these little things that come together and make the big day so special is what the Finer Wedding Details or Still Life category is all about.

“All categories was very tough to judge! The bar has been set so high. Looking at each picture made me realise that wedding photography styles have evolved so much. Most of the pictures were stupendous… we can compete on an international level. The work is genuine and innovative and inspiration. My favorite categories were Emotion and Photoseries on a Single Wedding.”
