Bengaluru-based photographer Sumesh Senan has been awarded 18 Honorable Mentions in the Professional and Non-Professional categories at the International Photography Awards (IPA) 2011.
This image,  photographed in Dubai, won an Honorable Mention in the Non-Professional, Cityscapes category. “The congruence and geometry of the structures drew my attention to the frame.” Later, he visited a construction site opposite the structures to make the photo that he had spotted.
Senan had sought prior permission from the guards at the site. However, after shooting for 45 minutes, he was approached by the authorities and asked to delete all the photos. Luckily for him, the authorities missed one image.
Senan has previously won Honorable Mentions at the 2010 edition of the IPA awards in the Professional as well as Non-Professional categories.
