I am planning to get the Canon 55-250 mm IS lens to complement my kit lens (Canon18-55 IS). But i am having another thought --- why not buy the Sigma 18-200 OS lens.
These are the advantages i think Sigma 18-200 OS has over the Canon
1. Metal mount
2. Front of the lens does not rotate when focusing
3. No need to change lens
4 They provide a lens hood which looks professional, unlike Canon's which is round and that also you have to buy separately.
5. And I fear of getting dust in my sensor as i know i'll be changing the lens very often in field. And it'll be costly and time consuming to have it cleaned again and again.
Canon 55-250 has the advantage of 50mm more on the telephoto side.
Will it be helpful?? (the extra 50mm)(i dont usually do any wildlife, but would like to capture people)
I dont care about the f6.5 at 200mm for sigma.
My main concern in about the image quality.
What do you guys suggest. Will the picture quality of Canon 18-55 is +55-250 is same as sigma 18-200mm? Or different but only slightly...
Has anybody used this sigma lens??
I can't go for the tamron 18-270 VC or the newly launched sigma 18-250 OS as it's out of my budget.
(Still i am inclined towards Canon 55-250mm IS as it will surely give me good result) |
