“I find photography a convenient tool to convey stories of social value.”
In China, life in the countryside can be tough, owing to a dearth of infrastructure as well as hard manual labour. This has made it difficult for residents to even afford basic requirements. Despite their hardships, people are not deterred from wanting a better life for themselves and their children. This is evident in this photo that I shot in the Dalian district in China, where a teacher continued to teach his students, in a dilapidated classroom. I was especially moved by the determination of the young child, who had her younger sibling on her back. It proves that with a strong resolve, anything is achievable.
