Photography as an Art Form


An established sculptor, Antoine Samuel Adam-Salomon also came to be known as an exceptional portrait photographer in France, after he started shooting in 1858. His style of making pictures enabled people to view the medium as an art form too. The poet Alphonse de Lamartine, who expressed great distaste for photography, changed his opinion after coming across Adam-Salomon’s work.
