WPOY 2011 Nominees

India’s biggest wedding photography awards, the Kodak-Better Photography Wedding Photographer of the Year are back!

Happiness, laughter, colour and a multitude of emotions—a single wedding is responsible for making some of the best memories of our lives. The celebration of two people becoming one in holy matrimony is a true joy to witness. And it is the wedding photographer who captures these memories for posterity. The Kodak-Better Photography Wedding Photographer of the Year awards are an endeavour to identify and celebrate these unsung heroes, who work tirelessly behind the scenes to capture the most crucial moments of the event.

An Important Profession
With changing times, the demand for different styles of wedding photography has changed. These days, a wedding album is as important as the jewellery, trousseau and venue. Wedding photographers are going beyond posed shots to making more candid frames. While photographing traditional ceremonies and rituals, they also have to capture memories that last a lifetime.

Six Exciting Themes
This year, we received as many as 20,954 entries in six categories—Emotions, Couple Portraiture, Bridal Portraiture, Family and Friends, Behind the Scenes and Photoseries on a Single Wedding. Finally, over 300 entries were shortlisted by six of the biggest names in wedding photography. To find out who wins the title of the Kodak-Better Photography Wedding Photographer of the Year 2011, look out for one of the forthcoming issues of Better Photography.

The winner of the Final Face-off of Kodak Wedding Photographer of the Year 2011, will be announced on 8 June 2012. Stay tuned to this page for further updates.
