Sony Announces 63x Zoom H400, Other Superzooms
While the Alpha A6000 has been Sony’s biggest release at CP+ this year, the company has also released several superzoom and compact cameras as well. The list includes two superzoom bridge and two compact cameras.
The first camera in the series is the Cyber-Shot HX400V. The 20.4MP camera features an EXMOR R CMOS sensor, 50x zoom range with Optical SteadyShot image stabilisation. The camera also has WiFi and NFC capabilities and it also supports Sony’s PlayMemories Camera App, which allows you to download apps you can use in-camera. There is built-in GPS, an LCD electronic viewfinder with 920k dots and burst shooting at 10fps. The camera also features Full HD 1080p at 24p and up to 60p. The HX400V will be available from March and is priced at about USD 500 (approx. Rs. 32,000).
Up next is the H400, which features a whopping 63x (24.5–1550mm equivalent) optical zoom lens! The camera is built around a 20.1MP CCD sensor and features 720p video, and does not have WiFi or NFC capabilities. The camera is priced at USD 320 (approx. Rs. 20,000).
The final superzoom bridge camera to be announced is the H300. The 20.1MP camera features a CCD sensor, a 35x zoom range (27.2–954mm equivalent) and 720p video recording. The camera runs on AA batteries and is priced at USD 220 (approx. Rs. 14,000).
Amongst the compact cameras, the first is the WX350, which the company claims is the world’s smallest and lightest compact camera with 20x Sony G optical zoom lens. The camera features an 18.2MP 1/2.3-inch Exmor R CMOS sensor and can capture videos at Full HD 1080 up to 60p/60i. The WX350 supports WiFi and NFC as well. It is priced at USD 320 (approx. Rs. 20,000).
