Photography Appreciation Workshop
Venue: Space 118, 118, Wadi Bunder Road, Mazagon, Near Wallace Flour Mill, St. Mary’s School or Fazlani School, Mumbai
Duration: 15-16 November
The Photography Appreciation Workshop will be conducted by Jeroo Mulla who will take participants through the history and basics of photography via both practical and theoretical methods. Basics such as aperture, shutterspeed, ISO, framing and composition will be taught as well as different ways of ‘seeing’. Participants will shoot images that will be critiqued on the second day. The workshop will also have a discussion on photojournalists and contemporary photography who have used colour in a different way.
Participants will need to bring:
- A DSLR Camera
- A Laptop
- A Flash drive
- Pictures on a flash drive or CD that you have shot previously.
Jeroo Mulla was the Head of the Social Communications Media department at the Sophia Polytechnic from 1986-2012. She taught Film, Photography, Fundamental Concepts of Communications, and supervising student documentaries at the Sophia Polytechnic for thirty years and continues to teach as a visiting faculty. She lectures at various communications institutes in Mumbai and was the recipient of the the Prof. Satish Bahadur Lifetime Achievement Award to a Film Teacher from South Asia.
