2015 Sony World Photography Awards
The Competition: The Sony World Photography Awards is once again inviting photographers from the world over to participate in their annual contest. The aim of the contest is to cultivate a photographic culture and also discover new talent.
Categories: Open Competition, Youth Award and Professional Competition. These are further divided into sub-categories.
Open Competition — Architecture, Arts and Culture, Enhanced, Split Second, Nature and Wildlife, Low Light, Panoramic, People, Smile and Travel.
Youth Award — Culture, Environment, Portrait.
Professional Competition — Architecture, Arts and Culture, Campaign, Conceptual, Contemporary Issues, Current Issues, Fashion and Beauty, Landscape, Lifestyle, Nature and Wildlife, People, Portraiture, Sport, Still Life and Travel.
Prizes: The Open Competition winner will win USD 5000 (approx. Rs. 3,07,420) and the title of the Sony World Photography Awards Open Photographer of the Year.
The Youth Award winner will receive the title of Sony World Photography Awards Youth Award Winner.
The L’iris d’Or (Professional Competition) award winner will win USD 25,000 (approx. Rs. 15,35,770) and the title of Sony World Photography Awards Photographer of the Year.
In addition to the titles and the prize money, all the winners will receive digital SLR cameras from Sony, a chance to exhibit their work at the award ceremony, the opportunity to feature in the main winner book and much more!
