Morning Divinity

Nimit Nigam, New Delhi
“The holy city of Varanasi is also known as ‘the city of temples’. There are several religious rituals that are seen throughout the day. This shot was made during the early morning aarti in Dasaswamedh Ghat in Varanasi. The silhouette and the changing colours of the morning sky made me feel at peace.”

Taking a Stroll

Nature’s Canvas

Nujum H, New Delhi
“This was shot at Thirumullavaram beach during my recent visit to Kerala. I went to the beach to make pictures of the sunset. By the time I reached there, the sun had already disappeared in the Arabian Sea. Mesmerised by the fast changing colours of sky and the reflection, I managed to make a timely photograph.”

In Isolation

Alan Varghese, Thiruvananthapuram
“One early winter morning near Vellayani Lake in Thiruvananthapuram, the dense mist made it difficult to photograph the sunrise. Though the sunrise was not visible, the sunrays seeped through the mist and rendered an orangish glow to it. That was when I saw this lotus picker looking for lotus buds in the middle of the lake.”

A Burst of Colour

Aman Dhingra, New Delhi
“This was from my visit to Damdama Lake in Gurgaon, Haryana. After shooting the sunset, I was about to go back home. Suddenly, I saw this old hut. A low angle helped emphasise the various colours in the sky.”
