In the March 2012 issue of Better Photography, we showcase some of the best photographs from the third edition of the Canon Wild Clicks photography contest conduct by Nature Wanderers.

About Canon Wild Clicks: These images are from the third edition of Wild Clicks, in Kanha National Park, Madhya Pradesh. This annual event is organised by Nature Wanderers, which promotes environmental conservation through photography, and supported by Canon. These images were shot in a live format and were judged by wildlife filmmaker Mike Pandey and photographer Ganesh H Shankar.

The Wet Heron

The Mystical Eagle

“The mystique of the woods, the lone crested serpent eagle and a few subdued shades drew my attention to this frame. I broke the rules of bird photography, and instead of going closer to the bird, I decided to capture the mood of the morning with the eagle in the frame.”

“During an early morning safari at Kanha National Park, I found the fog and mist adding to the mystery of the forest. I made this image in order to depict the magical feel of Kanha in winters. Experimenting with the White Balance setting gave me bluish hues sin the image.”
