Better Photography - January 2021
Contest: For the Love of Nature

In flight

image description
Rahul Singh Manral Chennai, India
It was another oridanry overcast morning. I was out with a friend in the outskirts of Lucknow in search for photographic opportunities. But there wasn't much that one could find. On the way back at around 6:30AM, we spotted 3 peahens going into the fields, so we parked the car and jumped out with our might zooms attached and headed into the fields only to witnedd this peacock on a huge pile bricks with is tail spread open in an act of enticing the peahens. But it sensed our presense and ran around.
We chased this peacock around for 45mins or so to try and get a worthy shot. We were standing deep in a field in the wet mud, almost knee deep when this guy took flight. I'd never witnessed a peacock fly in real life and it was an amazing sight indeed. Out of an 11 shot curst, this was the best. Not that its the best photo i've taken, but its an ode to a fantastic, overwhelming moment of seeing a peacock in flight for the first time
