The Palace of Winds in Jaipur , famously known as Hawa Mahal was built in 1799. It is a five story structure similar to a honeycomb of beehive, having 953 small windows called as jharokhas. The intention of these small windows was to allow the women from royal families to the daily life in the street below while unseen from the outside.
The photo was taken through one of the jharokhas when the locals are celebrating the Makar Sankranti.
